In short: no account,

Your notes are saved in your browser

The notes you write (title, store, prices, category, link, image address and description) are saved in your browser's local storage, under the key dealix-listings. Dealix has no account and no database: the notebook itself is never uploaded. Parts of it can still reach the audience measurement described below: the label of what you click, up to 40 characters, can be part of a note's title (when you pick a note on the stage or remove one, for example), and the address of a note's link is recorded when you follow it. When that link goes to Amazon or to an affiliate network, the script also adds a visit identifier to the address you open.

Another browser or another device keeps its own notebook. To erase your notes, clear this site's data in your browser settings.

Pictures you add

When a note has an image address, your browser loads that picture directly from the site that hosts it. That site receives your IP address and the usual browser information, as with any picture on the web. Dealix sends no referrer with these requests.

Audience measurement

We count visits with Datalenk (in.datalenk.com). It sets no cookie and writes nothing on your device. For each page it records:

  • the page address and its campaign tags (such as utm_source), the page you came from, your browser language and window size;
  • the time you spend on the page, how far you scroll and how fast the page loads;
  • each click: its position, the kind of element clicked and the label of that element, up to 40 characters. The label can be part of a note's title, for example when you pick a note on the stage or remove one. What you type in a form field is never read;
  • a summary of your mouse movements (how many, how regular, how straight), used to tell people from robots, without the path itself;
  • which form was sent (never what you typed) and the address of outside links you follow, such as the link of a note;
  • for a link to Amazon or to an affiliate network (Awin, ShareASale, Skimlinks, Impact, CJ, Rakuten): the path of the link when it shows on screen and, when you follow it, a visit identifier that the script adds to the address (for Amazon, the ascsubtag parameter). It adds no affiliate code of its own and never replaces a value already in the link;
  • on one page view in 20, the names of the other sites the page loaded files from, and the message of one JavaScript error in 10 (its first 120 characters, at most five per page).

The pages of one visit are grouped on the server with your IP address and browser identification. Nothing is recorded when your browser sends a Do Not Track signal.

Datalenk is operated by GTA Go To Agency SAS, a French company, and runs here in its default mode, with no cookie and no local storage. What it records is hosted in Germany by Hetzner and never leaves the European Union. The detail of each visit is kept for 25 months, then permanently deleted.
